Greater Bridgewater Women of Today Touch a Truck

Join Greater Bridgewater Women of Today for their Touch-A-Truck event hosted at Sullivan Tire (Rte.18) in Bridgewater on Sunday, October 25 from 11-2 PM weather permitting. The cost will be $3 per family with a maximum cost of $15 per family. There will be tons of trucks for the children to touch and explore! Children are encouraged to wear their costumes and there will be candy to collect at each truck. There will be face painting, giveaways, games and more! Grilled burgers and hot dogs will be available for purchase. GBWOT would like to thank the sponsors of this event: Sullivan Tire, Crocetti’s Market, Prisco’s Market, and Wheel House Real Estate.

 Massachusetts Run For The Fallen

They are a group of runners, walkers, and support crew with a mission.

To run in honor of every Massachusetts Service Member Fallen since September 11, 2001. They run to raise awareness for the lives of those who died, to rejuvenate their memories and keep their spirits alive. MARFTF seeks to honor those who have fallen under the American Flag. Accessible Recreation Fair, May 31st, 2014

The Department of Conservation and Recreation’s (DCR) Universal Access Program (UAP) will offer a free fun-filled day of celebrating Accessible Outdoor Recreation available for individuals, families and friends of people with disabilities. Activities will include a cycling fair with an assortment of accessible cycles available for use; other adaptive recreational activities, including hiking, letterboxing, face painting and interpretive programs; music; snacks, including Starbucks Coffee, Legal Seafood’s’ Chowder Mobile and much more!

Join us rain or shine [call 617 626-1294 for recorded status in case of severe weather] and enjoy the accessible recreation fair and the beauty of the Charles River running along the park. Enjoy the camaraderie while learning about DCR’s inclusive, accessible programs and resources available to people of all abilities around the state.

This is the place to come and find out about accessible recreation programs offered by multiple organizations in the Boston area and beyond.

The UAP provides recreational accessibility to Massachusetts’ park facilities for individuals with disabilities, their families and friends. For persons with disabilities, free use of accessible equipment and staff assistance are available. The UAP strives to increase the participation in indoor and outdoor recreational activities in integrated settings.

The program offers accessible cycling, boating, hiking, letterboxing and horseback riding programs in the summer and fall, as well as adaptive winter activities in January through March at various Massachusetts’ state park facilities.
